Post Anterior Spinal Fusion Surgery
Some things you should know after surgery:
• Avoid eating solid food too soon after surgery. Your
body and organs have been put to sleep, so your
organs will not digest the food well.
• Give yourself 3-4 weeks of recovery time at home.
At first you may need to limit yourself and go back
for half days.
• I wore a back brace for 3 months so I needed
clothes with a lot of room and elasticity.
• For a few weeks after surgery, you will probably
need help bathing because you cannot bend or twist
your spine.
